The most beautiful things in Key West aren’t the polished ones. They’re the worn doors, the cracked sidewalks, the gates that don’t quite close right, fences built around trees. Their edges tell stories the perfect ones cannot. The same is true of our lives. Embracing and even loving our imperfections is key to the beauty of life.
These cracks invite us to appreciate the past and at the same time feel an internal draw to improve it. We want to love and connect with what has been, but it’s almost as if we aren’t complete unless we settle on a path, or at least make a plan, to improve what’s broken. One day, if we don’t work on improving the broken things, they will lose their usefulness.
Intentionally appreciating, gracefully improving, that feels like the right balance.

Imperfections tell a story of persistence, perseverance, commitment that we stand through the storms.
